Bio - Michael Scott
Michael Scott (b 1975) has become a well-known artist across Canada and The United States. Mostly self-taught, Mike started making headlines with his art while also being featured in several Snowboarding magazines, and made the cover on multiple occasions while showing off his famous ‘method grab’. While living in B.C., he showed his whimsical figural works at several galleries in Vancouver and became a full-time oil painter when he retired from snowboarding. He spent his time in the studio or on-site painting, and developed his own unique style which captures a fleeting moment of light and time in a painterly manner. He has become prolific and is talented in almost all genres including portraiture, animals, figural group scenes, and pastoral landscapes etc. Lately, having spent time in the Muskoka area, a popular new series of island paintings have emerged. Works from this series have made their way to numerous important private collections across the country, including members of parliament. Michael’s studio in Oro is a cozy escape with an A-frame interior and warm fire on chilly days. He has been working hard to offer an abundance of striking images at an accessible price for your collection.
