Bio

I've always loved and participated in many creative pursuits, art and making, but came to ceramics as a second "career". Before clay I spent almost 20 years as a teacher in Ontario. In 2015 my husband and I were presented with an opportunity to move our family to live and work as expats in Mexico, and we jumped at the chance!

Upon our return, I decided to take my career in a different direction. On a whim I took a pottery class with Ken Loverock of Fergusonvale Pottery during the winter of 2017, and I was hooked. I fell in love with the medium and found it the perfect creative, endlessly inspiring outlet for my need to make "stuff"! It's been full steam ahead practicing, taking courses, practicing some more, opening a studio (which coincidentally is in the same space as the original Hillsdale Pottery started by Robin Hopper! Imagine my surprise when I discovered this!!), going to local markets, which I love! (Orillia, Barrie and Gravenhurst Farmer's Markets, various pop up markets) and dabbling in offering workshops for groups in hopes of making pottery experiences possible for others.
