Bio

 Jan is an award winning photographer with a unique collection of landscapes, architecture and nature from around the globe.  Jan discovered a passion for photography during his childhood, and continues to expand his creativity by capturing images that inspire “you” the viewer.

Whether travelling via foot, kayak or bicycle, Jan’s focus is on capturing the image that tells a story, inspiring you to envision that moment.  Patience with lighting, reflection, mood and angle always add an interesting challenge when discovering a new destination that will be transformed into an outstanding photograph. 

His original photographs can be rendered in Colour, Fine Art Black and White, Sepia, and Watercolour on the highest quality photography papers available. The studio offers a complete printing, mounting and framing in-house production service for all your interior décor needs.  

All custom pieces are created and finished at our studio with paying attention to every detail. The unique finishing process gives the photographs a look of a painting and does not require glass to protect the surface. 

Pieces from Jan’s portfolio are on display at selected Ontario art galleries, corporate offices and by interior design companies. His many awards and recognitions range from competitions as far away as Frankfurt, San Francisco, New York, Montreal, Toronto, Niagara Falls and locally in Gravenhurst, Midland, Barrie, Orillia and Collingwood.  A broad selection of work is also on display at ‘The Inn’ at Horseshoe Resort, Carriage Hills Resort, Shipyards Marketplace – Muskoka Lake, Mariposa Market – Orillia, Killarney Provincial Park, Made in Canada Art – Ottawa, The Corner Cabinet. 

Jan and his spouse Tamara, own and operate JDN Photography Canada & Art On Stone studio and gallery in Horseshoe Valley. Their studio is open to the public year round by appointment.
